Our guiding principles and reporting

At Marimekko, we are committed to operating according to the same principles everywhere in the world, in compliance with international and local laws and regulations, responsible and ethical business practices, and Marimekko’s values. Marimekko’s key ethical business principles are included in the Marimekko Code of Conduct and the Supplier Code of Conduct.

The Marimekko Code of Conduct describes our commitment to sustainable development and responsibility in all our operations. At its core are environmental and social aspects, respect for human rights, and the prevention of corruption and bribery. All Marimekko employees are required to complete online training to ensure that they are familiar with the Code of Conduct and follow it in their daily work.

In addition to these codes of conduct, our broad-based sustainability work is guided by our comprehensive Sustainability Policy, which has been approved by Marimekko’s Board of Directors.

We share information about our sustainability principles and the progress of our sustainability work on these websites and in our sustainability report.

Below, you can also find the annual statement on Marimekko’s actions to prevent modern slavery in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, Australia and Norway.

Our Sustainability Policy, which guides our broad-based sustainability work, describes our principles related to, for example, climate and the environment, human rights, value chains, and the sourcing of materials and products.
